I was born and grew up in Alba Iulia, which is a very old city in Transylvania, Romania. It used to be called Apulum in Roman times, Apulon in pre-Roman times. (Although I practically grew up playing over the ruins of citadels and fortifications in the middle of Transylvania, I have never heard of Count Dracula, until I arrived in the United States. Maybe I’ll write more on the subject later.)

I’m coming from an intersting family: my mother was Baptist, my father was Orthodox. I used to be Baptist, now I’m Orthodox (since 1999). I still have an intersting family: we are all Orthodox, with the exception of the oldest son, who is – at the time of this writing – still a Baptist.

In US I lived in or around New York until 1991, then moved to Cary, North Carolina. My wife (since 1977) is Ana, my children are Ruben, David, Hannah and Alice. I work in the Software industry and I am member of the All Saints Antiochian Orthodox church.
